Beth and Tim own and run Venture Jet Wildlife Expeditions based in Pembrokeshire. Due to the nature of their business and the beautiful and wildlife rich coastline they operate in, they were determined to avoid any risk of spillages when refuelling.
Although refuelling does take a little longer using a Safety Fill nozzle, they believe it is woth the effort.
" We run a jet RIB with a diesel inboard engine (yes, we're introducing Biodiesel!). The engine is very fuel efficient and we're conscious of the need to prevent spillage when fuelling up. The nozzle size we were given doesn't fit our main fuel cans but does fit our auxiliary cans so that's how we tested it. The design is simple but clever and the fuel nozzle is pretty robust, which is important on a working boat. We found the nozzle easy to use and, crucially, it dies what it claims to do. Fuelling up does take longer when using it, which is a factor for working boats, but we think it's worthwhile. We also found it really useful when re-filling the fuel filtration system after a filter change where it is particuarly difficult to avoid spillage."
